Birthday post: Learnings this year by Uma Gokhale

On my birthday, eight other babies were born in a hospital in Orange City, New Jersey. Among all of us newborns, I was the only girl. Since the next day was Women’s Day, the local news interviewed my mom and published a short article about us along with this picture in the newspaper !

It’s been 43 years. On one hand, I wouldn’t wish to be even a day younger — because I wouldn’t want to be, to quote Joey, any less ‘wisdomous’ than I am today. Haha.

Strangely though, on the other hand, I still feel 28.

Learnings this year:

The purpose of life is to enjoy the ride — the human experience in all its eccentricities and possibilities. After all, you’ve only got this one ticket. No do-overs.

When you love someone, their existence—both in the world and in your thoughts—and the connection you share or the hope of it, deepens the meaning of your life.

You’re free once you realize the cage is made of thoughts.

Set clear boundaries. If it costs me my peace, it has to go.

It’s been a wild ride so far, and I hope it continues to be just so. 🥂
