The structure for a successful website entirely depend upon its purpose. Designing an e-commerce website to sell products is a whole different ball game than building a corporate website or a blog.
Here’s are the top 4 tips to help you build an e-commerce website that succeeds:

1. Very Easy to Buy

Keep in mind that the main objective of your website is to sell products. It should therefore be extremely easy for your visitors to find & click the buy button and make payments. The buy button needs to be placed as a very prominent and obvious place so it’s easily noticed. Also, the path from seeing a product’s info to buying it should not be very long, or load very slow otherwise your customers might just give up & leave the buying process in between.

2. Visible Pricing for Products

Price of every product should be displayed right next to or below the product. Visitors should not have to click on a link to navigate to another page to see the product info after a product photo interests them. If you’re offering any discounts or offers with a particular product, make sure those too are displayed on the first page itself.

3. Effective Search Feature

It should be easy for your customers to search for the products they’re interested in. The search feature needs to be equipped with advanced search filters so your customers can narrow down to the desired product fast and easy.

4. FAQ & Customer Support

Believe me, no matter how well you explain the process in your ‘How it works’ section, there are going to be several visitors who have trouble doing what they want to do on the site. It’s therefore beneficial to have a well documented FAQ section. It’s also a great idea to have a support forum or online chat support available.
