About This Piece

This work is an exploration of unrestrained growth, capturing the chaotic and beautiful energy of a garden in mid-bloom. Vivacious moves away from traditional, static floral arrangements to document the rhythmic dance of flora, where movement is just as important as the subject itself.

The composition is built on the concept of Expressive Spontaneity — the idea that beauty is found in the gestural, the splattered, and the imperfect.

The Artist



Uma Gokhale is a mixed media artist exploring nature, memory, and human emotion. My work blends bold color, modern minimalism, and expressive storytelling as it explores identity and the emotional layers of everyday life.

Born in the United States and spending my early childhood there, I was surrounded by a culture of individuality and self-expression. Later moving to the colorful and culturally rich landscapes of India, I absorbed its intricate patterns, vivid hues, and tropical beauty. This unique cross-cultural journey shapes my distinctive style—an uplifting fusion of bold colors, tropical motifs, and modern minimalism using a unique blend of handmade drawings & graphic art.

I am an internationally licensed artist, with designs featured in global retail and lifestyle brands including Anthropologie, Target, John Lewis, and more.
