About This Piece

This work explores the intersection of organic fluidity and geometric precision, capturing the tension between the untamed natural world and the structures we impose upon it. By juxtaposing the soft, rhythmic silhouettes of tropical foliage against sharp, uncompromising linear boundaries, the piece reflects on how we perceive nature through the lens of modern design.

Tropicalia brings together crisp geometric shapes and lush botanical silhouettes in a palette of coral, navy, aqua, and stone. The textured marble-like patterns contrast with striking palm and monstera leaves, creating a dynamic artwork that feels both contemporary and organic.

The Artist



Uma Gokhale is a mixed media artist exploring nature, memory, and human emotion. My work blends bold color, modern minimalism, and expressive storytelling as it explores identity and the emotional layers of everyday life.

Born in the United States and spending my early childhood there, I was surrounded by a culture of individuality and self-expression. Later moving to the colorful and culturally rich landscapes of India, I absorbed its intricate patterns, vivid hues, and tropical beauty. This unique cross-cultural journey shapes my distinctive style—an uplifting fusion of bold colors, tropical motifs, and modern minimalism using a unique blend of handmade drawings & graphic art.

I am an internationally licensed artist, with designs featured in global retail and lifestyle brands including Anthropologie, Target, John Lewis, and more.
