About This Piece

This work is an exploration of atmospheric memory, where the traditional landscape is filtered through the hazy, layered lens of a dream. Echoes of the Canopy moves beyond a literal forest scene to capture the ethereal vibration of shifting seasons—the precise moment where the warmth of autumn collides with the cool, misty breath of the coming winter.

The composition utilizes a technique of chromatic layering and intentional distortion to mimic the way we recall nature: not as a sharp photograph, but as a series of textures, light leaks, and emotional temperatures.

The Artist



Uma Gokhale is a mixed media artist exploring nature, memory, and human emotion. My work blends bold color, modern minimalism, and expressive storytelling as it explores identity and the emotional layers of everyday life.

Born in the United States and spending my early childhood there, I was surrounded by a culture of individuality and self-expression. Later moving to the colorful and culturally rich landscapes of India, I absorbed its intricate patterns, vivid hues, and tropical beauty. This unique cross-cultural journey shapes my distinctive style—an uplifting fusion of bold colors, tropical motifs, and modern minimalism using a unique blend of handmade drawings & graphic art.

I am an internationally licensed artist, with designs featured in global retail and lifestyle brands including Anthropologie, Target, John Lewis, and more.
