Art Fit For Slow Living
Slow living is a lifestyle that encourages a slower approach to aspects of everyday life to help you engage all your senses & live every moment to the fullest. Hustler or not, everyone can benefit from slow living through a balanced state of mind & being which is what we aim to promote through our art as well as our approach.
At 83 Oranges, we believe Slow living is one of the solutions to the negative consequences of materialistic and industrial lifestyles. A fast-paced environment can resemble a chaotic nature, whilst ‘slowing down’ in slow living can help us enjoy life more and be more aware or conscious of sensory cues.
Slow living isn’t essentially about slowing down our activities, it’s about bringing more mindfulness and intention into our every action and in turn, our lives. It’s meant to encourage us to live more in the present moment and to follow what brings us joy, instead of following the crowd. For us, slow living focuses on:
‘S’ refers to sustainable. We’re continually working on becoming kinder to the planet, providing high-quality products made with sustainability in mind.
‘L’ refers to local, meaning we produce our products at fulfillment centers that are geographically close to the person they are delivered to.
‘O’ refers to organic, meaning avoiding products that have been mass-produced. Through made-to-order products, we minimize waste & prevent environmental damage.
‘W’ refers to whole/as is, meaning authentic & directly sold by independent artists – not processed through agencies, making sure every art sold pays the artist fairly.
“The feedback I receive from people who feel inspired by my work makes me really happy. They like the generous use and balance of vibrant colors, which is something very expressive and what I focus on the most during my creative process. Colors arouse the most diverse sensations, can sway thinking, change actions and cause reactions. It is always fun when someone shares what they felt after seeing something I created.”
The most significant inspiration behind my art is nature. And that’s one more reason we here at 83 Oranges are passionate about contributing to save nature & preserve wildlife – to help people and nature thrive, for future generations to come. Today, human activities put more pressure on nature than ever before, but it’s also people who have the power to change this trajectory. Together, we can address the greatest threats to life on this planet and protect the natural resources that sustain and inspire us.
